Washington University East End Transformation - St. Louis MO

View of a bike path and landscaping on the East End of Washington University's Danforth Campus, leading uphill.

The East End Transformation project at Washington University in St. Louis reimagined a car-centric campus entrance into a verdant, pedestrian-friendly gateway. Designed by a collaborative team of architects, including KieranTimberlake, BNIM, and many others — the project replaced surface parking lots with the central plaza of Tisch Park and added several new buildings, including Weil Hall as well as a renovation to the Kemper Art Museum. Key elements include the integration of landscape features throughout the park and their connection to the new buildings. Photographing the large-scale project required showcasing the numerous buildings, art installations, small details, extensive landscaping, and overall campus integration.
